Missing is a 2023 American action thriller film written and directed (in feature film debut) by Will Merrick and Nick Johnson from a story by Sev Ohanian and Aneesh Chaganty, who also produced the film with Natalie Kasabian.

About

The Search anthology sequel was announced in 2019, with Merrick and Johnson, who edited the first film, signed on as their directors in January 2021. Reid and Long joined the cast in the spring of 2021, with filming in Loso. Angeles from March to May, after a delay due to the ongoing spread of the COVID-19 virus. He is also working on the spiritual sequel to Missing a Run (2020), directed by Chaganty Searching and edited by Merrick and Johnson, confirming the fate of the film’s characters.

Plot

    The story is about a young man, June Allen, who tries to find his missing mother after disappearing with her new boyfriend while on vacation in Colombia.

Missing theatrically released in the United States on January 20, by Sony Pictures Releasing under their Screen Gems banner. It initially scheduled for February 24, 2023.

Box office

As of March 12, 2023, Missing has earned $32.4 million in the United States and Canada and $12.6 million in other territories, for a total of $45 million worldwide.

Fallout earned $3.4 million on its first day, including $760,000 from Thursday night previews. It opened with a $9.2 million weekend, finishing fourth behind Avatar: The Last Airbender, Puss in Boots: The Final Fantasy, and M3GAN. The film earned $5.7 million in its second weekend, finishing sixth.
